Iona's Jones Named to USBWA All-District II Team

Edison, N.J. - Lamont Jones from Iona College was named to the 2012-13 U.S. Basketball Writers Association All-District II Team, based on voting from its national membership of 900-plus.
Jones, the 2013 MAAC Men's Basketball Championship Most Valuable Player, helped lead the Gaels to win the 2013 crown last night with a 60-57 victory over Manhattan College in the title game at the MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass. He is second in the country in scoring, averaging 23.0 points per game. Jones is also contributing 3.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game while connecting on 44.4 percent of his attempts from the field, 32.4 percent from three-point range and 88.7 percent from the free throw line.
