Six ESPN Telecasts Highlight this Week's Basketball Schedule

EDISON, N.J. – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference ESPN telecast package continues this week with six broadcasts at four different locations.

The MAAC men’s basketball schedule and ESPN telecast package continues this week on Thursday (Jan. 29), with a doubleheader at Saint Peter’s University’s Yanitelli Center in Jersey City, New Jersey. The evening kicks off with a women’s basketball matchup between Saint Peter’s and Niagara at 5 p.m., followed by a men’s basketball meeting between Saint Peter’s and Rider in an hOURglass rivalry contest. Both games will be televised on ESPN3. In the first meeting between the Peacocks and Broncs on Jan. 10, Rider came away with the, 68-55, home win against Saint Peter’s.

Friday’s (Jan. 30) schedule includes four contests, highlighted by two ESPN broadcasts. On ESPN3 at 7 p.m., Niagara hosts Marist at the Gallagher Center. The Purple Eagles come into the game with a 2-8 league mark and the Red Foxes enter the contest coming off of their first league win of the season.

Also at 7 p.m., Manhattan plays hosts to Siena in Riverdale, New York and Canisius welcomes Quinnipiac to Buffalo, New York. Canisius and Manhattan enter the night tied for fourth place in the standings with 6-4 conference records, while Quinnipiac and Siena sit behind the two with 5-5 marks.

On ESPNU at 8 p.m. in the second ESPN broadcast of the night, Fairfield hosts Monmouth at Webster Bank Arena. The teams met on Jan. 18 with Monmouth defeating Fairfield, 77-70.

Saturday (Jan. 31) features an ESPN doubleheader at Iona’s Hynes Athletic Center in New Rochelle, New York. At 4 p.m. on ESPN3, Iona hosts Marist in women’s basketball, followed by Iona and Saint Peter’s in men’s basketball on ESPN3. The Gaels men’s basketball team enters the game as the topped ranked team in the MAAC at 8-2 and a perfect 8-0 home record.

The week concludes on Sunday (Feb. 1) at 2 p.m. with a three game slate. Canisius hosts Marist at Koessler Athletic Center. Cansius defeated Marist in the first match up, 67-52, on Jan. 8. Quinnipiac will be at Niagara for the two teams’ first meeting of 2015. On ESPN3, Monmouth hosts Manhattan to conclude the day. The two just met on Jan. 25 with the Jaspers defeating the Bobcats, 71-64. 

The 2015 season culminates at the 2015 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York March 5-9. Tickets for the championships are available online at ticketmaster.com.
