MAAC Announces Basketball Championships Networks and Game Times

EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference has announced the telecast networks and tipoff times for the 2016 Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York from March 3-7. 

“It is great that the MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships will once again be showcased across ESPN networks,” notes MAAC Commissioner Rich Ensor.  “The men’s championship airing on ESPN is a significant opportunity for the leagues teams to be seen on one of ESPN’s top platforms for college hoops.  The women’s game on ESPNU at 2:30 pm is again a highlight of that championship, as is the earlier round men’s and women’s games on ESPN3.  The relationship between the MAAC and ESPN remains strong and important for the conference.”

Both the men’s and the women’s championship games will be played on Monday, March 7. The women’s title game will air on ESPNU at 2:30 pm ET and the men’s championship contest will air on ESPN at 7:00 pm.

Additionally, the men’s quarterfinals and the men’s and women’s semifinals will be shown on ESPN3.  The men’s quarterfinals will be on Friday and Saturday, March 4 and 5 at 7:00 and 9:30 pm on both nights. The women’s semifinals will tipoff on Sunday, March 6 at 11:00 am and 1:30 pm, while the men’s semifinals will start at 4:30 and 7:00 pm.

ESPN is currently in 92.9 million homes, ESPNU is in 73.1 million homes, and ESPN3 is in more than 99 million households.

All session tickets for the 2016 MAAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championships go on sale Friday, October 10. Tickets will be available through the Times Union Center Box Office or online at timesunion.com.
