Sophomore guard Matt Scott had an all-around performance in three games to help the Purple Eagles to a 2-1 week. Scott led the Purple Eagles in scoring with 17.3 points per game, in rebounding with 7.7 per game, in assists with 5.0 per game, in steals with 3.0 per game, and in free throws made with 6.3 per game. Scott started the week recording 23 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two blocks and two steals to help lead Niagara over Brown in the home opener on Wednesday. Scott led the Purple Eagles in scoring and in rebounding en route to picking up his first career double-double while matching his career-high point total and setting a career-high in rebounds. In Niagara’s meeting with Vermont in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament at the Mohegan Sun, Scott scored 18 points to share team-high honors, and had a team-high seven rebounds to lead the team in scoring and rebounding for the fourth straight game; he also had three assists and two steals. In the Purple Eagles’ comeback win over North Carolina A&T in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament Springfield Bracket Consolation game on Sunday, Scott scored 11 points, had a game and career-high five steals and had a career-high seven assists with the final one leading to the game-winning basket with two seconds remaining in the game.
Rookie of the Week
Jonathan Kasibabu, Fairfield

Freshman forward Jonathan Kasibabu averaged a double-double for the week, posting 12 points and 10 rebounds per game for the Stags. He started the week with 12 points with five rebounds in a 79-72 loss to Northwestern in just 20 minutes of action. Kasibabu followed up with his first career double-double by posting 12 points and 15 rebounds in an 83-79 overtime win over Sacred Heart. For the week, Kasibabu shot 53 percent from the floor (8 of 15) and 88 percent from the free throw line (7 of 8). Kasibabu also added four blocks, three assists, and a steal on the week.
