MAAC Men's Basketball Conference Play Opens up this Week

EDISON, NJ – All 11 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference men’s basketball programs will take the court in league action this week, highlighted by three matchups that will be featured on ESPN3.

MAAC play opens up tonight at 7:00 p.m. with preseason MAAC favorite and defending regular season champion Iona College hosting Fairfield University at the Hynes Center in New Rochelle, New York.

On Wednesday, December 2, hOUR glass rivals, Rider University and Saint Peter’s University will meet in Lawrenceville, New Jersey for a 7:00 p.m. meeting at Alumni Gymnasium.

Conference action resumes on Friday, December 4, with a full slate of contest all tipping off at 7:00 p.m. and featuring two contest on ESPN3. The two ESPN3 games include two-time defending MAAC champion, Manhattan College visiting Albany, New York to face Siena College at the Times Union Center and Canisius College hosting the currently top ranked team in the MAAC in Monmouth University in Buffalo, New York. Also matching up will be Rider University at Fairfield University, Niagara University will play host to Quinnipiac University, and Iona College will travel to Marist College.

The lone game on Saturday, December 5 will include Quinnipiac University at Canisius College and will air on ESPN3 at 7:00 p.m. at the Koessler Athletic Center in Buffalo, New York.

Sunday concludes the December MAAC slate with three contest each set for a 2:00 p.m. start. Monmouth University will end its Western New York trip at Niagara University, Siena College will visit Jersey City, New Jersey to face Saint Peter’s University, and Manhattan College will play host to Marist College.

The 2015-16 MAAC season culminates at the 2016 MAAC Basketball Championships, March 3-7, at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York. The 2016 MAAC Championship title game will take place on Monday, March 7 at 7:00 p.m. and will air live on ESPN with the winner earning the leagues automatic bid to the NCAA Championship.
