ANBURY, Conn. – The Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) has announced the Corvias ECAC Men’s Basketball Players of the Week for the week ending Nov. 29.

DIVISION I 

Player of the Week

Justin Robinson – Monmouth University, Jr., Guard, Lake Katrine, N.Y.

Robinson was named the MVP of the AdvoCare Invitational after breaking the 10-year old tournament’s scoring record with 77 points in three games, a mark originally set by former NBA first-round pick Michael Beasley with Kansas State in 2007 (73 points). Robinson started his weekend with 22 points in the program’s first-ever win over a ranked opponent as MU beat No. 17 Notre Dame, 70-68. The junior knocked in the game-winning free throws with 3.9 seconds remaining, and ended up with 22 point on 4-of-11 shooting and 14-of-15 from the foul line with three rebounds, four assists and two steals. The point guard followed that up by tying a career-high for the third time this season with 28 points in a three-point loss to Dayton, hitting 7-of-15 from the floor and 5-of-7 from three-point range along with 9-of-10 from the charity stripe. He contributed four boards and two assists. Finally, he broke the scoring record with a dagger three in the final minute to propel Monmouth to a third-place finish in the tournament and a win over Pac-12 member USC. Against the Trojans, Robinson finished with 27 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals on 9-15 shooting and another five threes. He shot 48.8% from the floor on the weekend, 62.5% from beyond the arc and 27-29 from the foul line, good for 93.1% with 14 boards, nine assists and five steals.

Rookie of the Week

Micah Seaborn – Monmouth University, r-Fr., Guard, Fort Worth, Texas

Seaborn was a key factor in Monmouth’s third-place finish at the AdvoCare Invitational and wins over No. 17 Notre Dame and Pac-12 member USC, scoring in double-figures in all three games. Against Notre Dame, Seaborn shot 6-for-11 and netted 15 points, nabbing two rebounds and two steals as the Hawks upset the Fighting Irish. He was strong again in a three-point loss to Dayton, scoring 12 and pitching in four assists and four boards. The freshman’s best game came against USC on Sunday, when he knocked down four threes and multiple important shots in a 20-point effort against the Trojans. He finished with four more rebounds, shooting 7-14 from the floor. Seaborn ended the weekend shooting 45.9 percent, along with 43.8 percent from range along with stellar defensive play.
