Player of the Week

Isaiah Williams, Iona

Sr., G, 6-7, 190, Newark, NJ/State College Florida Manatee/Shabazz

Senior Isaiah Williams led the Gaels in scoring in two wins this past week at home vs. Drexel and on the road in MAAC play at Quinnipiac. Williams filled the stat sheet with 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 0.5 blocks per game. He drained seven three point field goals to take over the team lead in the statistic. Williams had a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double to open the week at home vs. Drexel. He shot 53.3% from the field and had six assists in the win. He followed it up with 18 points and eight rebounds including a season-best five on the offensive glass. Williams scored 14 points in the first half to lead the Gaels. His eight boards contributed to a double-digit edge over the nation’s leading rebounding team, Quinnipiac.

Rookie of the Week

Abdulai Bundu, Quinnipiac

Fr., F, 6-6, 210, Upper Marlboro, MD/Largo

Bundu had a breakthrough week for the Bobcats, averaging 19 points and 12 rebounds over two games. He came into the week with personal bests of eight points and nine rebounds, and shattered those marks with 23 points and 15 boards at Maine on Tuesday. He followed that up with 15 points and nine rebounds against Iona on Saturday, missing a double-double by just one board. He had 17 of his 24 rebounds on the week on the offensive glass.
