WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Junior guard Justin Robinson (Lake Katrine, NY/Kingston) has been named Lou Henson National Player of the Week for the second time this season. He joins Oakland’s Kahlil Felder and UL-Lafayette’s Shawn Long as the only three nationally to earn the honor multiple times this year.

Robinson was named to the Lou Henson Award Watch List last month, and is leading Monmouth in scoring with 20.5 points per game. The Lou Henson Award is presented annually to the top Mid-Major player in Division I college basketball.

Robinson scored a career-high 36 points at Siena on Monday, becoming the sixth Hawk ever to top that amount in a game in Monmouth’s 93-87 win. It was a career-best for the junior, scoring 23 of his 36 in the first half. He was 10-19 from the floor and 4-7 from deep along with a perfect 12-12 from the foul line. He also pitched in five rebounds, three assists and three steals.

His strong week continued Friday night against Fairfield, scoring 12 points while also contributing nine rebounds, five assists, and three more steals. For the week, Robinson averaged 24.0 ppg while shooting 44% and 44% from deep, 93% from the foul line with 14 boards, eight assists and six steals in two wins.

Robinson was named MAAC Player of the Week for the third time this season this morning.

Robinson and the Hawks are back in action tomorrow night for a 7:00 p.m. tip at Marist.
