WEST LONG BRANCH, NJ – Quinnipiac University has defeated Siena College, 1-0 and has advanced to the Women’s Soccer Championship Game. The Bobcats will play in the MAAC Women’s Soccer Championship Game for the first time in program history.
Quinnipiac broke the scoreless tie at the 48 minute mark. Al Pelletier found the back of the net off the assist from Jess Fontaine to give the Bobcats a 1-0 lead, which they would not relinquish.
Siena outshot Quinnipiac (20-4) with five shots going on goal. The Saints took a total of four corner kicks opposed to the Bobcats who took one.
Bobcats’ goalkeeper Olivia Myszewski registered five saves on the evening and recorded her third shutout of the season in the victory.
Quinnipiac University will now face Monmouth University in the 2016 Women’s Soccer Championship game, which takes place on Sunday, November 6 at 3:00 PM at Hesse Field on the campus of Monmouth University on ESPN3.
