Marist and Fairfield Set to Face Off in 2010 MAAC Women's Championship Game

Albany, NY - Top-seeded Marist will take on third-seeded Fairfield in the Women's Championship Game at the 2010 Citizens Bank MAAC Basketball Championships. Tip-off is scheduled for noon and the game can be seen live on MSG.
Marist is appearing in its seventh straight MAAC Championship Game and they have won four consecutive titles. The Red Foxes road to the championship game included wins over Canisius and Niagara.
Fairfield is making its first appearance in the MAAC title game since 2001 and haven't won the crown since 1998. Fairfield posted wins over Loyola and second-seeded Iona in the two previous rounds.
The two teams split their head-to-head regular season meetings. Each team won on its home court with Marist winning a 70-63 decision on January 8 and Fairfield edging the Red Foxes 61-60 on February 9. The Stags win over Marist started their current nine game winning streak.
