Pairings Set for 2010 Chick-fil-A MAAC Women's Soccer Championship

Edison, N.J. - The pairings are set for the 2010 Chick-fil-A MAAC Women's Soccer Championship, which will take place on November 5 and 7 at the Ridley Athletic Complex on the campus of Loyola University Maryland.

The first semifinal on Friday, November 5 will be between top-seeded Canisius College and fourth-seeded Rider University at 3:00 p.m. In their regular season matchup, the Griffs took a 1-0 victory over the Broncs on October 3 in Lawrenceville, N.J. Junior Kelly Reinwald scored the lone goal of the contest in the 72nd minute. Lesley Ivinac made eight saves in goal for the Griffs, while Rider's Alex Post tallied four saves.

The second semifinal will feature second-seeded Marist College against third-seeded Siena College. On October 23, the Red Foxes claimed a 2-1 victory over the Saints in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Jaclynn Sabia scored the first goal for Marist just under two minutes into the contest, but Siena's Lindsay Tegas evened it out in the ninth minute of play. In the 56th minute, Daniella Burns capitalized on a turnover and scored the game winner that secured the Red Foxes a spot in the championship.

The championship final will take place on Sunday, November 7 at 1:00 p.m. The winner of that match will receive the league's automatic bid to the 2010 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship.
