Brendan Cavallaro, Rider Men's Swimming and Diving

Senior Brendan Cavallaro has been
named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Diver of the Week three times this
season, the first two weeks of the year and for all competition the first week
of November. Cavallaro won both the one-meter dive (303.68) and the three-meter
dive (331.05) in a meet with Lehigh November 5, won the three-meter dive
(335.85) and was second in the one-meter dive (262.73) in Rider's dual at Seton
Hall on October 20, and won the three-meter dive (310.57) and placed second in
the one-meter (211.05) in a dual meet against perennial America East Champion
UMBC to begin the season.
A two-time qualifier for the
NCAA Zone Championships, Cavallaro was the Eastern College Athletic Conference
(ECAC) champion in the three-meter last year while placing third in the one-meter.
In three years at the MAAC Championships Cavallaro has finished second in the
three-meter three times and runner-up in the one-meter twice.
Cavallaro is a Computer Information
Systems major.
Hollie Rowland, Iona Women's Cross-Country

Holly Rowland finished third in the highly contested NCAA Northeast Regional
Championship, hosted by the University of Buffalo this past weekend. Rowland's
20:40.2 mark gave the Iona College women's cross-country team an eighth place
finish, highest seeding amongst the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.
With her 6k time and third place All-Region performance, Rowland qualifies
individually for the NCAA Championship in Terre Haute on Nov. 21. She finished
just over a second behind the No. 2 performer from Syracuse, Lauren Penny.
In
her 6K victory at the MAAC Championship, Rowland's time of 20:44.7 shattered
the MAAC Championship 6k mark at Van Cortlandt Park by 41.1 seconds. She broke
former Iona standout Emmily Chelanga's mark of 21:26.8 set in 2003.
