Brandon Penn, Rider Men's Basketball

Rider
senior Brandon Penn made a career-high seven three-point field goals and all
four of his foul shots to lead Rider to a recent victory over Canisius. Over
the last ten games, Penn has compiled 173 points and 87 rebounds. In the first
11 games of the season, Penn compiled 97 points (8.8 per game) and 45 rebounds
(4.1 per game). Penn was the Rider Athlete of the Month for December and also
earned MAAC Player of the Week honors. He currently ranks second in the MAAC in
three-point field goal percentage (44.6), third in three-pointers made (50,
2.38 per game), ninth in rebounding (6.3) and 16th in scoring
(12.9). In MAAC games Penn is averaging a team-high 14.9 points per game. For
the season Penn has compiled 270 points, after compiling just 186 points his
first two seasons. Last year Penn came into his own and compiled 310 points,
fourth most on the team.
Haley
D'Angelo, Iona Women's Basketball
Jr., Guard - Long Valley, N.J.
A model example of hard work and consistent play, Iona College women's
basketball junior Haley D'Angelo has appeared in 45 career games for the Gaels,
with seven starts. Averaging 1.5 assists per contest, D'Angelo has also
averaged 0.8 points and 0.9 rebounds per game in limited action. She was
named to the 2011 MAAC All-Academic Team after posting a grade point average of
3.86.
