Desmond Wade's 3-pointer for Fairfield with 38 seconds remaining made it 66-62, but the Stags missed their last three shots as the Gaels hit 5-of-6 free throws. Rakim Sanders led Fairfield with 24 points.

Ten of the 18 games at the 2012 MAAC Basketball Championships are set to air on one of the ESPN platforms during the annual joint championships, which will be hosted for the first time at the neutral site MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass. from March 1-5, 2012.
