Julia Penkal, Villanova

Julia Penkal scored eight goals
on the weekend and had nine points overall.
Although she wasn't able to cultivate a win for the club, she provided half
of the offensive production in those four games. Penkal had eight of the 16 goals scored in
that span. Against George Washington,
she had four goals in a 15-7 loss.
Versus Harvard, she had two points and a steal.
Defensive Player of the Week
Rebecca Thomas, Marist
So., G, 5-11, Cape Town South
Africa/Univ. of Cape Town
Thomas was brilliant in net,
recording double-digit saves in three of the five games she appeared in over
the weekend, including 14 in just three quarters versus #18 UC-San Diego. She
had a goals against average of just 8.25 and a save percentage of .577 while
playing four of five games against top-20 teams in the country.
Rookie of the Week
Allison Hamby, Marist
Fr., 2mD, 5-9, Sacramento, Calif./Granite
Bay
Hamby was the Red Foxes' leader
on offense this past weekend, leading the team with six goals. She also
contributed with one steal, two field blocks and drew three ejections. She had
two goals in each of Marist's games versus #14 Long Beach State and Sonoma
State. In that game versus Sonoma, she sparked the Red Foxes to a comeback win,
their first victory of the season and also registered a steal and a field block
on the defensive end.
