LORENZO ROSSI, MARIST

Rossi, playing at the first singles position for the Red Foxes, continues to return to the form that won him the 2011 MAAC Player and Rookie of the Year, leading Marist to a 6-1 victory over conference opponent Niagara. The sophomore easily won his singles match against Niagara's top player 6-2, 6-1. He then competed at the top doubles spot, where he again eased to victory with an 8-2 decision.  

MAAC Women's Player of the Week

ASHLEY TA, NIAGARA

Freshman Ashley Ta extended her unbeaten streak in singles and doubles to eight matches as the Niagara Purple Eagles split a pair of road MAAC matches over the weekend.  Ta collected Niagara's final singles victory over Siena on Friday en route to defeating the Saints in the duel, 5-2. Ta, who was playing her first match in the two slot, defeated Siena's Carly Holloway in straight sets (6-2, 6-4). In doubles, Ta and Maria Ortiz held off  the Saints' No. 2 tandem, 9-8. On Saturday, Ta and Ortiz won their fourth straight doubles match with a convincing 8-2 win over Marist's Sabrina Tahir and Joana Sun. Ta continued her stellar play in singles with a 6-4, 1-6, 6-0 victory over Erin McCarthy in No. 2 singles for her fourth straight singles win.
