MAAC Men's Player of the Week

LORENZO ROSSI, MARIST

Rossi was pivotal in Marist's comeback win last week over Fairfield, as the Red Foxes took the first four points at singles after the Stags took the doubles point. The sophomore came back from an early 4-1 deficit in the first set against Fairfield's top player at the first singles position to win the decisive fourth point, 6-4, 6-2.

MAAC Women's Player of the Week

MONICA YAJIMA, FAIRFIELD

Monica Yajima was 2-0 in Fairfield's one match of the week against conference foe Marist College.  The sophomore paired with classmate Carolina Koladzyn at No. 1 doubles to play one of the toughest matches of the day against Raynor and McCarthy.  The two Stags were able to pull out a victory against last year's All-MAAC First Team No. 1 duo, 8-7 (8-6).  In singles, Yajima played in her usual one spot against Raynor battling through three sets.  After dropping the first set 4-6, Yajima came back hard to defeat her Marist opponent 4-6, 6-2, 6-3.  In duals, Monica is currently 11-2 at No. 1 singles and 3-0 in conference.
