Offensive Player of the Week

Chloe Mangan, Fairfield, Jr., Midfielder, 5-10, Sayville, N.Y./St. Anthony's

Mangan averaged 6.5 points per game this week, in leading the Stags offense with 13 points in MAAC victories over Marist and Siena.  She scored nine goals, going 3-4 from 8-meters, and handed out four assists. Mangan also added eight draw controls in the two games, while picking up two ground balls. Mangan scored all seven of her game-high points in the second-half at Marist. With the score tied 5-5 she scored two goals in the first 3:10 of the second-half, and then handed out her first assist on the Stags fourth goal of the period. Mangan finished the game with five goals and two assists, all in the second-half. Mangan followed that with a six-point effort in defeating Siena on Senior Day. She had two goals and an assist in the first-half, had her second assist early in the second-half and then notched her final two goals to stop a three-goal Siena run in the final minutes of the game.

Defensive Player of the Week

Morgan Leonard, Canisius, Midfielder, Jr., 5-6, Sykesville, Md./Liberty HS

Leonard anchored the Canisius defense as the Griffs clinched a spot in the 2012 MAAC Tournament. The junior midfielder led the Griffs with eight caused turnovers and nine ground balls during the week to go along with four draw controls, five points, three goals and two assists. Leonard, who entered the week ranked fifth nationally in caused turnovers per game, set a career high with five caused turnovers in the tournament-clinching victory at Iona, to go along with four ground balls, a goal and two assists.

Rookie of the Week

Courtney Chmil, Fairfield, Fr., Midfielder, 5-8, Garden City, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy

Chmil had three goals in the week, caused two turnovers and added a draw control. She connected for a hat trick, including the game-winner in the Stags win over Marist to clinch the outright MAAC regular season crown. She also had two caused turnovers in that contest. In limited action versus Siena she corralled a draw control.
