2012 MAAC Tennis Championships Head to Mercer County Park

Edison, NJ - The 2012 MAAC Tennis Championships begin this weekend, April 28-29 at Mercer County Park in West Windsor, New Jersey.

The first men's semifinal matchup is on Saturday, April 28 between top-seeded Marist and fourth-seeded Saint Peter's at 9 a.m. Marist won the 2011 Men's Championship and ended the year with the MAAC regular season title with a perfect 6-0 record.  Saint Peter's finished 3-2 in MAAC play.

Second-seeded Fairfield and third-seeded Niagara will vie for a place in the MAAC Championship match in the second semifinal matchup also at 9 a.m. Fairfield  ended the season 5-1 in the MAAC while Niagara finished with a MAAC record of 4-2.

The women's semifinal matchup action will also take place on Saturday, April 28 between top-seeded Fairfield and fourth-seeded Saint Peter's at 12 p.m. Fairfield ended the season as MAAC regular season title holders with a record of 7-0. Saint Peter's clinched the fourth spot in the championship with a record of 3-4 in the MAAC.

Also at 12 p.m. the second-seeded Marist Red Foxes and third-seeded Loyola Greyhounds compete in the second semifinal matchup. Marist ended the season 5-2 in the MAAC while Loyola finished with a MAAC record of 5-2.

The championship matches will take place on Sunday at 9 a.m. on the men's side and 12 p.m. for the women.
