Loyola Men, Siena Women Extend Leads on Day 2

Lake Buena Vista, FL - The Loyola University Maryland men's and Siena College women's teams continue to lead following the second round of the 2012 MAAC Golf Championships at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.

The Greyhounds shot 291 today for a two day total of 577. Saint Peter's College is second at 589 with Canisius College in third at 600. Fairfield University is fourth (602) and Iona College is fifth (603). Siena College is sixth at 622, followed by Manhattan College (625), Rider University (630), and Niagara University (638).

Loyola senior Jay Mulieri and Niagara junior Michael Jiggins are tied for the individual lead at -3 (141). Mulieri extended his streak to seven straight rounds of par or better. Saint Peter's T.J. Sumigray eagled the eighth to take the lead at -4, but finished the day at 2-under and sits in third.

On the women's side, Siena improved by 15 shots on its first day score (306) for a toal of 627. Fairfield is in second place with a 659. University of Hartford is third at 671, followed by Niagara (677), Boston University (684), and University at Albany (723).

Siena's Victoria Nguyen leads after two rounds at +7 (151). Teammate Kyle Strijek is three shots back, while Hartford's Sarah Sideranko is third at +12.

Competition will resume tomorrow with the men teeing off at 7:30 a.m. from the tenth hole, followed by the women at 7:50 a.m. from the first tee.
