MAAC Track & Field Programs Recognized By USTFCCCA

New Orleans, LA - Iona College, Manhattan College, and Rider University had both its men's and women's track and field teams named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team list, while Loyola University Maryland's women's team was also recognized. (Loyola does not have a men's program).
To be recognized, a team must earn a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. A total of 85 men's teams and 171 women's teams were honored.
In addition, Iona's Alexander Soderberg, Mitch Goose, Craig Murphy, Jake Byrne, and Andrew Kowalsky, Manhattan's Roman Ewald and Albert Johnson, and Rider's Mike Soroko were named to the USTFCCCA Men's Track & Field All-Academic Team.
On the women's side, Iona's Heidi Gregson, Hollie Rowland, Marion Joly-Testault, and Regina Neumeyer were recognized for both their academic and athletic performances during the 2011-12 indoor and outdoor track seasons.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
