Falconer once again led
the Canisius attack to a perfect week, recording six points, two goals and two
assists in victories over Western Michigan and Detroit. The senior recorded an
assist on the only goal of the game against the Broncos - who was receiving
votes in the national poll, helping the Griffs to the 1-0 win. On Sunday,
Falconer recorded a career-best five points, nettting two goals to go along
with an assist in a 4-2 victory over Detroit. His five points are the most by a
Griff since 2009 as he helped Canisius to the best start in the program's
history in addition to the longest unbeaten streak in the team's record book. This is the second straight Offensive Player of the Week award for Falconer.

Petricek
had a solid showing in goal for the Niagara men's soccer team, earning two
shutouts in the Smith Barney Classic as the Purple Eagles earned two hard-fought
double overtime draws. In the scoreless game against New Hampshire on
Friday, Petricek made a season-high eight saves, while stopping all five
Vermont shots on Sunday in the 0-0 tie. The Woodbridge, Ill. native saw
220 minutes of action, averaging a 1.00 save percentage, earning him a spot on
the all-tournament team.

Newton
scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory against Yale University on
Sunday, his first collegiate points. An impressive offensive play from the
defender, Newton received the ball 35 yards from goal, dribbled to just outside
the penalty area and tucked a shot inside the near post to the goalkeeper's
left side in the 72nd minute. He also played well defensively, helping
Fairfield post its second shutout in three outings.
