NCAA Sports Committee Appointments
MAAC Sports
Edison, NJ - Representatives from the MAAC and two member institutions were recently
selected for appointments for the NCAA Division I Sport's Committees.
Eugene
Doris, the Director of Athletics at Fairfield University, will serve on the
Division I Men's Lacrosse Committee.
Doris previously served as chair of the NCAA Sportsmanship Committee. The Fairfield University men's lacrosse
team is a member of ECAC Lacrosse League, as is Loyola University Maryland.
Joe
Quinlan, the Director of Athletics at Saint Peter's University, will serve on
the Division I Men's Golf Committee. Previously, Quinlan was the athletics
director at Seton Hall University and assistant director of the
Division I Men's Basketball Championship.
Marshall
Foley, the Associate Commissioner of Championships of the MAAC will serve on
the Division I Men's Soccer Committee. Foley is the former chair of NCAA
Division I Women's Rowing Committee.
NCAA
sports committees represent the membership and perform several duties, including the
selection of teams for championships competition, administration of the
championships and other issues regarding the sport. All 89 NCAA championships are overseen by a
sports committee.
