Player of the Week
Taylor Akana, Siena, Jr., Outside Hitter, 5-7, Kaneohe,

Akana, the Preseason MAAC Player of the Year, enjoyed an
historic match in Siena's four-set win over Loyola. She finished with 22 kills and
no errors in 39 attacks on the outside, keying Siena's most efficient offensive
output in five years. The junior dominated the match, posting eight more kills
than any other player, and added 11 digs. In Siena's win over Rider the next
day, Akana racked up her 13th double-double of the season with 10
kills and 14 digs. She helped the Saints get out of the gate strong posting
four kills and five digs in the first set. Akana averaged 4.0 kills and 3.12
digs per set on the week, added three service aces, and posted a .983 reception
percentage with just one error in 60 serve receives.
Libero of the Week
Allyson Severyn, Canisius, Sr., Libero, 5-5, Lancaster,
N.Y./St. Mary's
Severyn
averaged 6.44 digs per set and had a 96.7 service reception percentage
(58-for-60) in two Canisius wins over the weekend. Severyn had 28 digs in the
Griffs' five-set win over Fairfield when she became the second player in
program history to reach 2,000 career digs. Severyn followed that up with 30
digs in a four-set win against Iona, recording double-digit digs for the 31st
consecutive match.
Rookie of the Week
Nicole Moorman, Rider,
Fr., Middle Hitter, 6-1, Moon Township, Pa./Moon Area

Moorman averaged 1.62 kills per set and had a .323
attack percentage on the week. She recorded eight kills and three blocks
against Siena on Sunday and averaged 0.62 blocks per set on the week.
