Epstein, Sutherby and Saez Earn Final Set of Weekly Honors

Offensive Player of the Week
Amanda Epstein, Marist, So., F 5-5, Jericho, N.Y./Jericho
In a weekend where scoring was at a premium in Poughkeepsie, the sophomore forward netted both of the Red Foxes' game-winning goals. In back-to-back contests, on Friday versus Loyola and Sunday versus Rider, Epstein scored Marist's only goals in a pair of 1-0 decisions. On Friday, she converted a penalty kick in the 59th minute and on Sunday in the 47th minute, she passed a pair of Rider defenders before unleashing a shot from just inside the 18-yard box into the lower left corner of the goal. With these two game-winning goals, Epstein has now registered the winning tally in five of Marist's last six wins.
Defensive Player of the Week
Stephanie Sutherby, Fairfield, Jr., B, 5-7, Ipswich, Mass./Ipswich
Sutherby helped backstop an impressive Fairfield defensive effort which resulted in a pair of shutouts on the weekend. From her corner back position, she helped hold the Stags' opponents scoreless over 188:23 of action and allowed just four shots on goal and 13 total. Against Saint Peter's, Sutherby came out of the back to loop the game-winning goal into the net with 97 seconds remaining in the first overtime period. She then had the assist on the game-winning goal against Manhattan.
Rookie of the Week
Veronica Saez, Fairfield, R-Fr., GK, 5-10, Bainbridge Island, Wash./Bainbridge
Saez played a role in two shutouts during the weekend to help the Stags finish the year with 11 wins and an 8-1-0 mark in league play. For the week, she played 133:29 in net for the Stags and made three saves to go along with her 1.3 shutouts and 0.00 GAA. She notched her fourth shutout Friday night, successfully backstopping a Fairfield defense that allowed just three shots and none on goal, as Saez cleared several crosses out of the box. On Sunday, she started the second half and stopped all three shots she faced in her 35:06 of action.
