LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. - Recently graduated Siena Lacrosse
great Bryan Neufeld
'12 will have an opportunity to continue his career in
the professional ranks. The Virgil, Ontario native was selected in the Fourth
Round with the 28th overall pick by the Rochester (N.Y.) Rattlers in the Major
League Lacrosse Supplemental Draft Wednesday.
A two-time USILA All-American Honorable Mention, Neufeld
recently capped a brilliant career in which he scored 156 career goals - the most
of any Division I player from the Class of 2012. A two-time MAAC Offensive
Player of the Year and the conference's all-time leading scorer, Neufeld
finished his career with 240 points.
Neufeld led the Saints to the MAAC Regular Season
Championship last spring and was named an Inside Lacrosse Consensus Midseason
All-American and was named to the Tewaaraton Award Watch List. He accumulated
76 points on 37 goals and 39 assists and ranked second nationally in assists
per game (2.44) and fourth in points per game (4.75).
Neufeld joins Brent Herbst '10 as the only players in
program history to be taken in the Major League Lacrosse Draft. Herbst was
selected 22nd overall by the Long Island Lizards in the 2010 collegiate draft.
