Lachman and Traub Take Home Runner of the Week Honors

EDISON, N.J. - Iona College's Nick Lachman was named the MAAC Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week, while Marist College's Kristen Traub earned the MAAC Women's Cross Country Runner of the week.
Senior Nick Lachman led a trio of Gaels in the top three at the Marist Season Kickoff at Vassar College. Lachman completed the 6k course in 18:54.06, less than six-tenths of a second in front of teammate Andy Adamovics. Iona tied the host Red Foxes for first place in the team standings with 30 points.
Traub took first place overall in the Marist Invitational on Aug. 30, and helped the Red Foxes earn a first-place team finish against Iona, Central Connecticut State and Vassar. Traub completed the 5K race in 18:24.34, as she took first place by a commanding 17.6 seconds.
The 2014 MAAC Cross Country Championships will be held on Friday, October 31st at Homldel Park, Holmdel N.J.
