Offensive Player of the Week

Erica Evans, Canisius

So., M, 5-8, Peterborough, Ontario/St. Peter’s Secondary

Sophomore Erica Evans continued the strong start to her career by recording a team-high five goals and six points in the Golden Griffins opening day game, where they were defeated 13-11 at Michigan. Evans also recorded seven draw controls and three ground balls in her impressive opening day performance. Evans’ six point performance is a new career high, while her five goals tie her career high that was recorded against Fairfield on April 11th of last season.

Defensive Player of the Week

Samantha Horton, Siena

Fr., GK, 5-6, Oyster Bay, NY/Long Island Lutheran

Horton recorded a 7.00 goals against average and a .548 save percentage in leading the Saints to a sweep of their season-opening Spring Break trip to Georgia. The freshman made eight saves in her collegiate debut at Mercer and added nine more stops at Kennesaw State.

Rookie of the Week

Lynnzee Miller, Siena  

Fr., A, 5-3, Oshweken, Ontario/The Hill Academy

Miller had a phenomenal first week of collegiate lacrosse, scoring a whopping nine goals in leading the Saints to a sweep of their season-opening Spring Break trip to Georgia. Her six goals scored in her collegiate debut at Mercer was just one goal off the program’s single-game record and she also added five groundballs and won a pair of draw controls. On Thursday, she added a hat trick and three groundballs in the Saints’ defeat of Kennesaw State.
