Offensive Player of the Week

Taylor Giglio, Canisius

Sr., A, 5-2, Oswego, NY/University of Albany/Oswego

Senior attacker Taylor Giglio recorded eight goals and four assists this week, leading the Griffs to a 12-6 victory over the defending MAAC Champion Fairfield Stags Friday afternoon. In the victory Giglio recorded a Canisius season high in points, with eight, including five goals. In a 16-8 loss to Columbia on Monday, the attacker recorded three goals and one assist. The senior is now tied for the team lead in goals with eighteen and leads the team in both assists (7) and points (25).

Defensive Player of the Week

Caroline Huelster, Monmouth

Sr., GK, 5-8, Mt. Laurel, NJ/Lenape

Huelster, the conference leader in saves, tied a career-high with 14 stops in Monmouth’s 16-15 win over Siena last weekend. The senior had eight saves in the first half as Monmouth built a 12-10 lead, then made six additional saves in the second half as the Hawks had to mount a comeback to start the conference off with a 1-0 record. In addition to her work in between the pipes, the Mount Laurel, NJ native also had a game-high six ground balls in the win.

Rookie of the Week

Hailey D’Hont, Niagara  

Fr., M, 5-10, Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Mendon

D’Hont led a balanced Niagara attack with eight total points in wins against St. Bonaventure and Quinnipiac, registering four goals and four assists. The freshman midfielder set a career-high with four points in a 14-6 win over the rival Bonnies on March 24, leading Niagara offensively by earning her first collegiate hat trick and adding an assist. D’Hont scored all three of her goals at St. Bonaventure during a 12-0 run for Niagara that spanned over 40 minutes of game time. D’Hont then matched that total with a team-best four points on one goal and three assists as Niagara opened MAAC play with an 11-6 victory over Quinnipiac, extending the Purple Eagles’ winning streak to four games.
