Rago's Game Winner Sends Marist College to the 2016 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship Game

HAMDEN, CT - With 9.3 seconds left in regulation, Marist College freshman and All-Rookie Team Selection, Thomas Rago scored the game-winning goal on an assist from J.D. Recor to send the Red Foxes to the 2016 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship game on Saturday, May 7 at noon.

Monmouth University tied the game at 7 with 35 seconds left on Dylan Schulte’s third goal of the game. This semifinal contest went back and forth, as the teams matched each other goal for goal until the final seconds when Rago won the game for Marist. The 2016 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Year, Joseph Radin scored three goals for the Red Foxes.

Second seeded Marist College will now face top seeded Quinnipiac University in a rematch from the 2015 MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship Game. Marist College will look to repeat as MAAC champions while Quinnipiac University will look to win its first ever MAAC Men’s Lacrosse Championship.
