Siena Advances in NIT with 68-62 Win over Western Michigan

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- Justin Miller had 20 points and 13 rebounds to lead Siena over Western Michigan 68-62 in the first round of the National Invitational Tournament Sunday.

Siena (21-10) led 43-29 with 18:39 remaining before the Broncos went on a 25-10 run to take a 54-53 lead with 5:25 left. Robby Collum hit four of his six 3-pointers during the run.

Miller and Prosper Karangwa combined to score Siena's next 11 points, as the Saints went on a 13-2 spurt to secure the win.

Karangwa had 25 points and eight rebounds for Siena.

Collum led Western Michigan (20-11) with 27 points and 10 rebounds, while Anthony Kann had 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Siena made 24-of-37 shots from the free-throw line, including a 10-for-15 performance from Miller. Western Michigan had only seven attempts from the line, making four.

Siena will host Ala.-Birmingham on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
