Iona's Di Domizio Named to CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team

EDISON, NJ – Iona College Women's Lacrosse junior defender Gabriella Di Domizio was named to the Women's District 1 CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team. Di Domizio, a chemistry major was one of three student-athletes on the District 1 team to post a perfect 4.00 grade point average.
The junior has been selected to the All-MAAC Second Team the last two season (2016 & 2017). She was named the 2016 MAAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year as a Sophomore and is a two-time member of the MAAC All-Academic Team. Di Domizio finished the 2017 season tied for sixth in the MAAC in caused turnovers (25). She recorded 30 ground balls and 15 draw controls in 17 games (all starts) this season.
About the CoSIDA Academic All-District At-Large Team:
The Academic All-District™ teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages and are divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. This is the sixth year of the expanded Academic All-America® program as CoSIDA moved from recognizing a
University Division (Division I) and a College Division (all non-Division I) and has doubled the number of scholar-athletes honored. The expanded teams include NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and NCAA Division III participants, while the College Division Academic All-America® Team combines NAIA, Canadian and two-year schools.
The Division II and III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures, to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2016-17 DII and DIII Academic All-America® teams program.
First-team Academic All-District™ honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® Team ballot, where first-, second- and thirdteam All-America® honorees will be selected later this month.
