EDISON, NJ – Canisius College junior midfielder, Erica Evans has been named to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) Division I All-American Second Team, announced by the organization on Wednesday, May 17. This is the second year in a row that Evans was named an All-American by the IWLCA and her first Second Team honor. The Peterborough, Ontario native was selected to the IWLCA Third Team last season.
In her junior campaign, Evans claimed her third-straight MAAC Midfielder of the Year award, was selected to the All-MAAC First Team, IWLCA All-West/Midwest First Team, and the Inside Lacrosse Media All-American Third Team. For the second consecutive season, Evans was named the MAAC Women's Lacrosse Championship MVP.
The midfielder set MAAC single-season records for goals scored (76) and total points (108). She is the first MAAC student-athlete (men's or women's) to record 100 or more points in a single-season. She led the league in goals, goals per game (3.80), points, points per game (5.40), game-winning goals (five), ground balls (69), and ground balls per game (3.45).
Evans took home MAAC Offensive Player of the Week honors four times this season (March 13, April 3, April 10, and May 1) and was named a Tewaaraton Award semifinalist on April 28.

The IWLCA has announced that 48 student-athletes were named to the 2017 Division I All-American teams. The IWLCA will honor the National All-Americans at the IWLCA All-American Banquet on Saturday June 3, 2017 at the Hunt Valley Inn in Hunt Valley, Md.
