MAAC.TV Launched as Conference's Broadband Network
Release: September 09, 2011
Edison, NJ - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) and leading technology service provider NeuLion, Inc. have announced today the launch of MAAC.TV, the league's first broadband network.
Six of the conference's 10 member institutions will be part of the network during the 2011-12 academic year - Canisius, Iona, Manhattan, Marist, Rider, and Saint Peter's. Marist will officially join MAAC.TV on Oct. 1 with the launch of its new website and video player. Content from the other five schools is available now at MAAC.TV and on their respective video portals.
The subscription-based streaming service will deliver over 400 live events during the 2011-12 season. MAAC.TV will also give fans access to highlights of select contests and an archive of classic MAAC games (over 150 and growing).
Fans will be able to choose the subscription package that best suits their needs. Options include full access and school-specific packages in one, four, and 12-month durations as well as single event passes.
"Providing increased fan access to MAAC sports is the basis for the development of the MAAC.TV broadcast platform," notes MAAC Commissioner Richard J. Ensor, Esq. "Equally important to the launch of MAAC.TV is the ease of fan access to content on one site and affordable one-stop pricing. We are pleased to again partner with NeuLion on this expanded broadcast opportunity that will showcase so many of the MAAC's sports. In the initial stages of the new MAAC.TV setup all league members were invited to participate. This group of six that will inaugurate the broadcast platform were agreeable to this new venture which combines their video productions into one easily accessible site."
"We are excited to launch the MAAC.TV network," commented Ed O'Brien, Vice President of NeuLion College. "From a digital perspective, the college landscape is rapidly changing. We feel that MAAC.TV will be a format that not only gives fans a great experience, but other conferences will look to follow."
Fans can access the new video portal directly by visiting maac.tv. To sign up for a subscription, visit the new registration page here. If you have an active subscription from Canisius, Iona, Manhattan, or Rider and would like to upgrade to a full access MAAC.TV package, please contact NeuLion's customer service department at email@example.com.
