Sadaoui led the Peacocks to their first win as a University, their first win over a BCS conference opponent since 2003, their first win over Seton Hall since 2003, and their first win to open the season since 2007 on Friday night in a 3-1 victory over the Seton Hall Pirates. Sadaoui recorded the first hat trick of his career, scoring the tying goal midway through the first half and then the go ahead and insurance goals in the second half.
Defensive Player of the Week
Thurman Van Riper, Loyola University Maryland
Jr., GK, 6-4, 195, Groton, Mass./Groton-Dunstable
Van Riper played all 110 minutes for Loyola in the Greyhounds' season opener at Saint Francis (Pa.) Saturday. Van Riper made three saves, including one in overtime, against a Red Flash program that is 13-1-2 in their last 16 home games to record his first career shutout.
Rookie of the Week
Tom Allen, Siena College
Fr., F, 5-8, 153, Camberley, England/Tomlinscote School
Allen netted the game-winning goal as the Saints defeated Jacksonville for their first win of 2012. The freshman finished with three points on the weekend, adding an assist at North Florida in his first collegiate match.
