Player of the Week
Hanna Stoiberg, Marist, Sr., Setter/Right Side Hitter, 6-2, Thousand Oaks, Calif./La Reina
Stoiberg enjoyed a dominating opening weekend to her senior season, leading Marist to a 2-1 record at the Hofstra Asics Invitational with 24 kills, 47 assists, 15 digs, 7 service aces and 9 total blocks over the three matches, leading to a selection to the All-Tournament Team. In the Red Foxes season-opening, straight set win over Providence, Stoiberg had six kills, seven digs and four aces. She also had a team-high 18 assists, including her 1,000th career assist, becoming only the seventh Marist player to accomplish the feat. In a tough loss to tournament host Hofstra, she again had six kills, while committing only one error. She finished with 12 assists while also adding four digs, three aces and three blocks. In the weekend finale against Fairleigh Dickinson, she doubled her attacking numbers to 12 kills to only two errors while dishing out 17 assists and contributing five blocks and four digs.
Libero of the Week
Allison Reis, Niagara, So., Libero, 5-8, Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston
Sophomore Allison Reis made a strong debut at libero last weekend in the season-opening La Salle Invitational. In her first career start at libero, Reis recorded a career-best 33 digs in the season opener. She followed with 19 digs in the next two matches. On the weekend, she averaged 6.45 digs per set.
Rookie of the Week
Nicole Marzik, Fairfield, Fr., Outside Hitter, 5-9, Prosper, Texas/Prosper
Freshman outside hitter Nicole Marzik had a strong debut for the Stags, averaging 2.38 kills, 2.38 points, and 1.62 digs per set. In her collegiate debut against defending Horizon League Champion UW-Milwaukee, Marzik had two kills in one set of action. Against ACC foe Duke, Marzik played all three sets, tallying seven kills and two digs. Marzik made her first collegiate start against William & Mary and recorded her first collegiate double-double with 10 kills and 11 digs. She also had a perfect reception percentage in 13 attempts.
