Meyer earned three points during this past weekend's play, helping the Purple Eagles to a 1-1 record. In the 2-1 victory over Cornell on Sunday, she contributed a goal and an assist in the dramatic win as Niagara stole the win from the Big Red with four seconds remaining the contest. The midfielder fired a shot from 12 yards out to give NU the lead in the opening half. With the score tied 1-1 and headed into extra time, Meyer beat a defender one-on-one before crossing the ball to teammate Jamie Raepple for the game-winning tally. She finished the weekend with five shots, four of them on goal. Meyer currently leads the Purple Eagles in points (6) and assists (4).
Defensive Player of the Week
Taylor Booth, Siena, So., GK, 5-8, Epping, N.H./Brewster Academy
Booth had another huge week in goal for the Saints as the team extended its winning streak to four straight. During the streak, she posted three shutouts in the four wins and saved 22 of the 23 shots she faced. Overall last week, Booth made 15 saves and accrued a .938 save percentage and a 0.33 goals against average while recording a pair of clean sheets.
Rookie of the Week
Claire Feiertag, Niagara, Fr., GK, 5-7, Ridgeway, Ont./Ridgeway Crystal Beach
Feiertag helped the Niagara women's soccer team to a 1-1 record this past weekend. In the 4-3 loss to St. Bonaventure on Friday, she finished the contest with two saves. On Sunday, Feiertag made a season-high eight saves en route to the Purple Eagles 2-1 victory over Cornell. She finished the weekend with 10 saves for a .667 save percentage, and a 2.50 goals-against average.
