Falk was in his second year with the Iona rowing program.

"The entire program is deeply saddened by this tragic event," said head coach Thomas Scifres. "William was a great friend and teammate and well liked by everyone who knew him. We will all miss William deeply and our heartfelt condolences to his family."

"Our thoughts and prayers are with William's family during this difficult time," said Director of Athletics Eugene Marshall, Jr.

Arrangements for Falk are unavailable at this time. Services of the Counseling Center and Campus Ministries are available for all members of the Iona community.

A community prayer service is being held at 4:00 pm today in the Arrigoni Center.
