Player of the Week
Sarah Sivertson, Siena, Sr., Setter, 5-11, Tyler, Texas/Robert E. Lee
Sivertson led the Saints to two MAAC wins this past week, averaging 11.9 assists and 2.2 digs per set. In Siena's victory over preseason MAAC favorite Fairfield, she killed six of her nine attacks without an error, dished out a match-high 43 assists, and rounded out a double-double with 12 digs. Sivertson got the whole roster involved in the Saint Peter's sweep, dishing out 13 assists per set. Seven Saints had five kills or more in just three sets against the Peacocks, a testament to Sivertson's sound decision-making. In Siena's tough five-set loss at Manhattan Sunday, Sivertson had 61 assists. She tallied a career-high seven block assists, and notched eight digs. Four Saints reached double figures in kills thanks to Sivertson's sets, and she killed five of her 12 attacks with just one error.
Libero of the Week
Allyson Severyn, Canisius, Sr., Libero, 5-5, Lancaster, N.Y./St. Mary's
Severyn averaged 6.33 digs per set in the two Canisius wins last weekend. The 5-foot-7 libero had 27 digs in the three-set win over Rider - the most digs by a MAAC player in a three-set match this season. Severyn has double-digit digs in all 14 matches this season and in 26 straight matches dating back to last season.
Rookie of the Week
Sydney Volvoski, Manhattan, Fr., Outside Hitter, 6-0, Oswego, Ill./Oswego
Volovski averaged 2.67 kills per set while hitting a combined .273 in three wins last week. After tallying seven kills in a 3-0 home victory against Lafayette on Wednesday, Volovski finished with 12 kills and a pair of blocks in a four-set triumph over Marist on Saturday. Then in the Jaspers' comeback win over Siena on Sunday, she slammed a team-high 13 kills and committed just two errors, hitting .407 in the match. Volovski added five digs and two blocks against the Saints.
