Edison, NJ - Iona College's Mitch Goose was named the MAAC Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week, while teammate Katie Niblock earned the award on the women's side.

At the Louisville Classic at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park, Goose made his 2012 debut and placed fourth overall to lead the Gaels to a first place team finish. Goose completed the 8k course in 23:42.44. The No. 8 Iona squad finished first out of 31 teams at the meet.

Niblock finished 35th overall and completed the 5k course in 17:28.63. She was Iona's top finisher at the Greater Louisville Classic at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park. Iona finished 15th out of a 31-team field that featured seven nationally ranked squads. There were 267 runners in the field.

The 2012 MAAC Cross Country Championships will be held at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. on Saturday, October 27.
