Edison, NJ - Iona College's Matthew Gillespie was named the MAAC Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week. Jackie D'Antonio of Loyola University Maryland earned the award on the women's side.

Gillespie finished third overall at the Fourth Annual Adidas Invitational at the Thomas Zimmer Cross Country Course on the campus of the University of Wisconsin. Gillespie competed against 21 of the nation's Top 30 teams and six other squads receiving votes.  He completed the 8k course in 23:25. He finished behind NCAA Championship favorites and Arizona duo Lawi Lalang and Stephen Sambu. Gillespie helped No. 5 Iona College to a second place finish overall.

D'Antonio won the 2012 Tribe Open, hosted by the College of William & Mary. She finished the 6k course in 21:46.1 to become the first Greyhounds harrier to win a meet in over six years. Her win is the first since Andrea Rovegno claimed the Navy Invitational title on September 16, 2006. She helped lead the Loyola women to a second place finish at the meet.

The 2012 MAAC Cross Country Championships will be held at ESPN Wide World of Sports in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. on Saturday, October 27.
