Edison, NJ - Marist College's Maddie Arciello was named the MAAC Women's Swimmer of the Week, while Marist's Jason Ruddy earned the award on the men's side.  Marist's Kimberly Tobias was chosen as the Women's Diver of the Week, and Rider's Trevor Hiller was selected for the second week in a row as the Men's Diver of the Week.

In the Red Foxes' win over Canisius College on Saturday, Arciello stood out amongst a strong showing by the entire women's squad with three individual first-place finishes and a fourth via relay. Arciello swept the shortest three freestyle races: the 50 with a time of 24.72, the 100 with time of 54.15 and the 200 at 1:57.09. She was most dominant in the 100-yd event as she was victorious by 1.28 seconds.  She concluded her day with a first-place finish as part of the 400-yd freestyle relay team. Swimming the leadoff leg, Arciello gave Marist a 1.41 second advantage that would eventual lead to a 4.18 second overall victory.

Ruddy earned two individual first-place finishes and a third in relay action in the Red Foxes' season opener against Canisius. His first solo win came in the 100-yd butterfly with a time of 52.37, while recording a 1:53.36 time in the 200-yd butterfly race. He closed his race with a final split time of 28.62, nearly four seconds clear of the next closest split. In relay action, Ruddy swam the third leg of the 200-yd medley with a time of 23.64 in the "A" relay team's eventual 1:37.30 win.

Tobias continued building off of her outstanding freshman campaign with a sweep of the boards in against Canisius. The sophomore won the 1-meter board with a score of 239.62, over 30 points clear of second place. In the 3-meter event, she won with a 242.17 total, nearly 20 points ahead of her nearest competitor.

As the men's diver of the week, Hiller, an NCAA qualifier last season, swept the individual diving titles against Seton Hall.  Hiller won both the 3-meter board with a score of 320.77 and the 1-meter board with a score of 315.60. It was the first time Rider beat Seton Hall since 2009-10.

The 2013 MAAC Men's and Women's Swimming & Diving Championships will be held February 14-16 at the Burt Flickinger Center in Buffalo, N.Y.
