Edison, NJ – Manhattan College’s Abdias Myrtil and Loyola University’s Uchechukwu Emili were named the Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track & Field Performers of the Week, respectively.
Myrtil, a 5-5 sophomore from Wheatley Heights, New York, set a school-record in the 60 meters at the Manhattan College Opener on Saturday. Myrtil was hand-timed in 6.6 seconds, which converts to 6.84 seconds. The previous mark of 6.93 seconds was set by John Farley in 2000.
Emili, a freshman, set a Loyola school record in the indoor weight throw in her first collegiate meet. She recorded a mark of 36’9” at the Lehigh Season-Opener on Friday night in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Emili also threw 32’11.75” in the shot put at the event.
The MAAC Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championships will be held on Friday, February 15th at The Armory Track & Field Center in New York City.
