EDISON, N.J. – The NCAA Division I Administration Cabinet announced a number of committee appointments today, including the appointment of two administrators from MAAC institutions to a pair of committees with direct impact on student-athletes.
Dr. Richard Satterlee, vice president for student life at Manhattan College, has been appointed to the Division I Amateurism Fact-Finding Committee, while Tara Wuorinen, academic athletic coordinator at Saint Peter’s University, has been appointed to the Division I Initial-Eligibility Waivers Committee.
Dr. Satterlee’s Division I Amateurism Fact-Finding Committee is responsible for making determinations of facts related to the certification of a prospective student-athlete's amateur status, on the request of an institution. An institution may make such a request if it disagrees with the determination of facts.
Wuorinen will join the Division I Initial Eligibility Waivers Committee, which oversees the initial-eligibility waiver process and may assist student-athletes who do not meet the legislated initial-eligibility standards.
Both appointments are effective immediately.
