MAAC Player of the Week

ANTOINE MASON, Niagara

RS-Jr., G, 6-3, 210, Queens, N.Y./New Rochelle H.S.

Antoine Mason poured in a team-high 25 points to give Niagara a 92-81 victory over local rival Buffalo. Mason sank 8-of-14 from the field, including 2-of-2 from beyond the three-point arc, and also added 7-of-11 from the free throw line. Mason, who played the entire game, helped the Purple Eagles snap a four-game losing streak against one of their local rivals. Mason’s effort came in Niagara’s home opener, and it was also the first victory for first-year head coach Chris Casey. Mason, who was a preseason All-MAAC first team selection, has now scored 20 or more points in five straight games dating back to last season, and is averaging 27.0 points per game in the Purple Eagles’ two contests.
