Monmouth University Clinches Second-Straight MAAC Regular Season Championship

With a 93-75 win over Niagara University on Thursday, February 16, the Monmouth University Hawks have won the 2016-17 MAAC Men’s Basketball Regular Season Championship. It is the second-straight regular season title for the Hawks.

Monmouth is the first team in the NCAA to clinch a postseason berth.

Monmouth will be the number one seed at the MAAC Men’s Basketball Championship, which is held at the Times Union Center in Albany, NY from Thursday, March 2 to Monday, March 6.

The Hawks will play on Friday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN3 against the winner of the #8/#9 matchup, which takes place on Thursday, March 2 at 5:00 p.m. on ESPN3.

Monmouth is currently on a 13-game winning streak and holds a 15-2 conference mark and 23-5 overall record. The entire MAAC Men's Basketball Championship will be broadcasted on the ESPN Family of Networks.
