Monmouth Men's Lacrosse Advances to Championship Game for the First Time in Program History

POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – With an 11-7 defeat of the University of Detroit Mercy, the 2017 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Regular Season Champions, Monmouth University, will compete in the MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship Game for the first time in program history.

Eamon Campbell recorded a hat trick for the top-seeded Hawks and Eric Berger and Tyler Keen chipped in two goals each. 2017 MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, Nick Hreshko, recorded 12 saves in the net, posting a .632 save percentage. 2017 MAAC Rookie of the Year, Justin Schwenk, won 11 faceoffs, picked up seven groundballs and scored a goal for Monmouth.

Monmouth now awaits the winner of the second semifinal contest between second seeded Canisius College and third seeded Marist College. The 2017 MAAC Men's Lacrosse Championship Game will air LIVE on ESPNU as well as SiriusXM  on Sirius 108, XM 201 at 10am.
