Canisius College opens the season in Amherst, N.Y. at the UB Invitational. The Griffs have two matches on their slate Friday - Buffalo at 1:30 p.m. and Oral Roberts at 5 p.m. - followed by one contest on Saturday against San Jose State at 2:30 p.m.
Preseason favorite Fairfield University is scheduled to play in the Duke Invitational down in Durham, N.C. The Stags will take on tournament host Duke at 10 a.m. and Wisconsin Milwaukee at 5 p.m. on Friday, and William & Mary at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
Iona College's season will begin in Los Angeles, Calif., at the LMU Invitational. The Gaels face UC Santa Barbara on Friday at 7 p.m., and then Loyola Marymount on Saturday at 3 p.m. and Connecticut on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
Loyola University Maryland heads to Morgantown, W. Va., to play in the Mountaineer Invitational. The Greyhounds are set to face Central Conn. St. on Friday at 4:30 p.m., St. Francis (Pa.) at 11 a.m. on Saturday, and tournament host West Virginia on Sunday at 5 p.m.
Manhattan College opens their 2012 campaign at the La Salle Invitational in Philadelphia, Pa. The Jaspers take on Loyola Chicago at 9 a.m., Bucknell at 5 p.m. on Saturday, and host La Salle on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Marist College starts their season in Hempstead, N.Y. at the Hofstra Asics Invitational. The Red Foxes match up against Providence at 4 p.m. on Friday. On Saturday, Marist plays tournament host Hofstra at 12:30 p.m. and Fairleigh Dickerson at 5:30 p.m.
Three-time defending MAAC champion Niagara University is slated to also play in the La Salle Invitational in Philadelphia, Pa. The Purple Eagles take on host La Salle at 1 p.m., Loyola Chicago at 3 p.m. on Saturday, and Bucknell on Sunday at 11 a.m.
Rider University begins their 2012 season on the road. The Broncs open up their season on Friday against St. Francis (N.Y.) in Brooklyn, N.Y. at 10:30 a.m. They then will travel back home to host Howard on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Broncs head back on the road Sunday to take on Lafayette in Easton, Pa. at 1 p.m.
Saint Peter's University is set to play in Cullowhee, N.C. at the Western Carolina Tournament. The Peacocks' 2012 season opens against Northern Kentucky at noon and North Carolina A&T at 4 p.m. on Friday. They will then take on host Western Carolina at noon on Saturday.
Siena College opens up play in the Boston College Tournament at Chestnut Hill, Mass. The Saints are scheduled to take on Fordham at 2 p.m. and host Boston College at 7 p.m. on Friday, and Texas Tech at 10 a.m. and Binghamton at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
The 2012 MAAC Volleyball Championship will be held November 17 and 18 at Alumni Hall on the campus of Fairfield University in Fairfield, Conn.
