Burke, Soldinger and Crescenzo Earn MAAC Baseball Weekly Awards

Burke batted .588 in the Gaels' four-game series at Lehigh this weekend. He posted 10 hits in 17 at-bats with five doubles, six runs scored, four RBI and five stolen bases. Burke posted an on-base percentage of .650 and a slugging percentage of .882. He posted multiple hits in each of the four contests including three hits on two occasions. Burke has recorded a hit in 14 of Iona's 17 games with a team best .435 batting average.
MAAC Pitcher of the Week
JOHN SOLDINGER, MANHATTAN
Sophomore, RHP, 6-23, 215, Bay Shore, N.Y./Bay Shore
Soldinger pitched nine scoreless innings, limited opponents to a .206 batting average against and did not yield a walk over two appearances last week. He picked up his first save of the season at Seton Hall when he pitched a perfect ninth inning, recording three straight outs to lift the Jaspers to a 6-3 victory. In his next start, Soldinger pitched eight scoreless innings and recorded three strikeouts at LaSalle.
MAAC Rookie of the Week
NICK CRESCENZO, RIDER
Freshman, OF, 5-9, 175, Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton
Crescenzo batted .462 (6-13) last week as the Broncs went 4-1 last week. He collected four runs, three RBI and a pair of doubles. In Rider's 7-2 win over Maine, Crescenzo hit an RBI double in the third inning to give his squad a 4-0 lead and then scored on an error to give Rider a 6-0 lead.
