McCann, Giordano and Crescenzo Chosen as MAAC Baseball Players of the Week

MIKE McCANN, MANHATTAN
Senior, OF, 6-0, 190, Belle Harbor, N.Y./Archbishop Molloy
McCann hit .500 (6-for-12), drove in six runs and logged a 1.083 slugging percentage to help the Jaspers to a perfect 4-0 record last week. He posted a .563 on-base percentage, and had two doubles, one triple and a home run. McCann hit .571 in the series sweep over Fairfield and drove in all six of his RBIs in Saturday's doubleheader.
Pitcher of the Week
MIKE GIORDANO, MANHATTAN
Junior, RHP, 5-10, 255, Bedford, N.Y./Fox Lane
Giordano delivered his top performance of the season on Sunday by pitching the Jaspers to a 3-1 series sweeping victory over Fairfield at Van Cortlandt Park. He struck out a career-high nine batters and did not yield a walk over eight innings to help Manhattan improve to a perfect 6-0 in the MAAC. Giordano struck out five of the first six outs and recorded 77 strikes of his 107 pitches in the contest. He limited the Stags to a .172 batting average against as he earned his second straight conference victory.
Rookie of the Week
NICK CRESCENZO, RIDER
Freshman, OF, 5-9, 175, Hammonton, N.J./Hammonton
Crescenzo batted .333 last week with five hits, four RBI and two runs scored. He also recorded two stolen bases along with a sacrifice bunt and a sacrifice fly. Crescenzo registered three RBI in Rider's 10-1 victory over Iona in game one of the schools' series. He had hits in both games of the Iona doubleheader to extend his hitting streak to 13 games.
